DATELINE: TEACHING EM YOUNG TO BOOM-CHAKA-CHAKA – What do you do when you have no plot, no writing and apparently no budget to produce a real crappy show? You have 16-year-olds strip down to almost nothing, snort a few lines, and go down on each other for the camera. You then change the name of it from Child Exploitation and Pornography to Skins and claim it is just portraying an accurate picture of life as a teenager and pulling in the money doing it, because there is nothing that appeals to a whole lot of sick handy-wankers than watching a show with naked kids. I can only imagine how long it will be before this is picked up as a regular staple for Vatican TV, because while the producers of this crap claim it ‘is a show that addresses real-world issues confronting teens in a frank way’, it is going to give total thrilly-chills to asshole pedophiles. It also really doesn’t do a heck of a lot to help parents who actually do try to teach their children that this fucked-up crap is neither glamorous or the right way to be popular, and can fuck up their lives. It’s a bit of a hard sell when the kids used on the show are raking in the cash for doing it.

DATELINE: HANDING OUT THE CRYING TOWELS – Camille Grammer could hardly make it though the season finally of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – imagine my pain at that fucking news. How the hell does this shit even get to be a real television program? Anyways, she cried her way through it, totally brokenhearted over her failed marriage with Kelsey Grammer. You wanna know how to be less humiliated, Camille? Do it like everyone else in the REAL fucking world has to do it, suck it up and quietly get on with the rest of your life. You are not the first person in the world to be married to a bastard, you will not be the last… but seriously honey, you are adding one hell of a lot of fuel to your ex’s fire as to why the hell he ditched you. Show some class… keep the details to yourself, because quite frankly, your melodramatic over-elitist privileged whining is just getting fucking annoying.

DATELINE: HEAVING A HUGE FUCKING SIGH OF RELIEF – You won’t believe it! Madonna and Prince no longer dislike each other!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEE. I have only one question… why the fuck is this considered news? This is kindergarten bullshit. They had a fight, they took some shots at each other in public over the last many years… all of it the result of unrequited love no doubt. I have a great idea for you both… Put it in a fucking song, then record the song, then sell the fucking recordings, then donate the money so that in some way this can have some significance to real fucking shit that is happening in the world. Now, if we can only get Piers Morgan to love Madonna again, so she can be on his new CNN show, the world will be positively perfect! It could be a bit of a tall order though, what with the ‘bread roll throwing incident in London’, the Canes Film Festival ‘involving a photographer and a bodyguard’ and the ‘pub’ incident. Add to that the ‘crime’ of Piers getting scooped on the Madonna pregnancy thing. Piers, sweetheart, it was Madonna the performer who was pregnant, not the real Madonna, so who gives a flying fuck if she was knocked up. ‘A series of crimes’? Give me a fucking break. It would be interesting to see how the hell these fucking idiots would manage with real fucking issues to deal with, especially without the media helping them to play them out. You are not going to find sympathy or understanding here, babies… so all of you should just grow the fuck up.

DATELINE: ROLLING UP THE RED CARPET – Ricky Gervais made some offending comments at the Golden Globes last Sunday? Well, thank Christ, because that means we do not have to go through the endless bullshit of who wore what, who looked like a whore, who spent the most money on their shoes and hair pins. For days after these events we are usually inundated with nothing that has to do with the actual awards, the work done by the actors, writers, producers, but rather who bought the prettiest fucking dress. Well, this time, at least it’s not the dress, but rather the pot shots taken at Charlie Sheen, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Bruce Willis and Robert Downey Jr. Come on, people… you want to live your lives in the spotlight, then put on some big kid pants and suck it up. God knows you make more money than fucking God for what you do, so call this a little bit of the dues you get to pay.

DATELINE: FLORIDA – Spirit Airline has announce their latest innovation in streamlining air travel and making it so much more appealing to the public – a $45 charge for each piece of carry-on luggage. Yes, because they love to enhance your travel experience, you get to fork out more money, and we all love that. It’s their attempt to cut down on the amount of large luggage pieces that are taken into the cabin of the airplane, so because some asshole can’t stand to have to wait and the conveyor belt for ten minutes for his suitcase to arrive, we all get to foot the fucking bill. Big carry-on crap annoys me. Extra fucking fees like this annoy me that much more. Sadly, once one airline starts with this crap, its only a matter of days before the rest get that wiff of more money and jump aboard.

DATELINE: OTTAWA – MP Helena Guergis has resigned her office. About fucking time! Not only has she submitted her resignation, but she has been kicked out of Caucus, AND Prime Minister Harper has asked for a full RCMP investigation into recent ‘serious allegations’. It is to be hoped that should the investigation shows any costs to the tax payer because of Guergis or her snappy, happy hubby Rahim Jaffer, it will be completely refunded. Yes, I am doing a fucking Happy Dance. May her elitist, entitled ass get the royal fucking kicking it deserves. Nah na na na, Nah na na na, hey hey hey, Go-ooooodbye…..

DATELINE: BOSTON – Phoebe Prince had gone to administrators about the threats made against her prior to her death. Documentation revealed today that she in fact did talk to an unnamed school administrator because she was afraid of the threats she had received, and to ask that she be allowed to go home early because of these threats. Her request was denied, and she was returned to her class with the knowledge that NOTHING would be done to help her. While District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel states that the inaction is troublesome but not criminal, I would argue that, if nothing else, they should be held civilly liable for their indifference to the problem. It’s time to make some serious changes in how bullying situations are handled in schools. There is no tie to wait on this, and inaction should NEVER be an option again.

DATELINE: WEST VIRGINIA – Information provided to congressional lawmakers this afternoon indicated that the Upper Big Branch Mine had received 61 orders for closure for all or parts of the mine in the last 15 months because of safety violations. Despite the extraordinary number of ‘withdrawal orders’ no one in the Mine Safety and Health Administration bothered to take action to cite the mine for a ‘pattern of violence’. While the federal agency does not have the authority to shut down a mine without going to court first, they can issue orders that force the mine to be evacuated until known hazards are eliminated. Proper ventilation and gas emission measures have been an issue at this mine for the last year, and in fact one of the 25 victims mentioned the previous Friday that they were shut down early because of the high gas levels within the mine. Perhaps it’s time for the government to take these issues seriously and create some legislation that has some teeth. Little puissant fines mean nothing to these large mining companies, but with the available technology there is absolutely no fucking excuse for there to be any issues like this in a mine these days. It’s time to hold corporate executive’s to account, and let them know that they cannot fill their wallets at the cost of bodies left in a mine.

DATELINE: ROME – More correspondence has surfaced regarding reports to the Vatican of pedophile priests, all of them ignored by the Vatican. In Canada, Bishop Joseph Windle sent a letter to the Pope in 1993, expressing deep concerns over the elevation of Father Bernard Prince, a personal friend of Pope John Paul II, to the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith, referring to victims and the priest’s conduct. The letter had the backing of several other prominent Catholic leaders in Canada, but it was not until 2008, when he was convicted of molesting 13 boys over a span of twenty years, that the Vatican seemed to notice. Originally over 30 charges were laid, including buggery, indecent assault and gross indecency again the boys, aged 12-15, most of whom were altar boys. Following his conviction, Prince was defrocked and is now in jail, where the fucking asshole belongs.
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, a letter has surfaced WITH Cardinal Ratzinger’s (aka Pope Benedict) signature, stating that despite pleas from within the church to defrock a known pedophile priest, Ratzinger’s ONLY concern was ‘the good of the universal church’. The letter is one of several, over years of correspondence regarding Father Stephen Kiesle, dating back to 1981, when Ratzinger was appointed head Rottweiler for the Vatican. The case was allowed to go unanswered for another four years, and in his reply at that time, the future Pope agreed that the arguments were of ‘grave significance’, but for the good of the Church (ie, to cover up the fact that this was happening fucking everywhere and that it really was of no importance to the Pope or Vatican officials) nothing would be done hastily. Let me recap… Kiesle, in 1978, had plead no contest to charges of tying up and molesting two boys in the rectory of a church in San Francisco. For starters, how the hell can ANYONE argue that this offence was a fucking misdemeanor? When his probation ended, he was allowed to return back to the church, and in fact allowed to work with children again. It was not until another volunteer in the youth ministry found out about the charges and began to write letters and to confront diocese officials that anything was done. Keisle was eventually arrested in 2002, charged with 13 counts of child molestation. All but two of the charges were tossed because of statute of limitations issues. This man, this Priest that was protected by Ratzinger’s department and absolute need to prevent scandal within the church, reportedly bragged that he was the ‘Pied Piper’, that ‘he tried to molest every child that sat on his lap’ and that he did molest ‘tons’ according to Lewis VanBlois, attorney for six of his victims. This same scenario played out for two priests in Arizona as well, one case being taken over by Ratzinger for review, and then left to sit on a back burner despite years and repeated requests for action. Of course, the Vatican’s response to ALL these allegations is that they are taken out of context – bullshit! – and that they will not reply to every piece of paper that may or may not have the pope’s signature on them. Yes, that’s it… continue to hide the facts, continue to blame everyone else for the clusterfuck you created, continue to allow innocent children to be abused and violated.

DATELINE: OTTAWA – Bishop Raymond Lahey, the Catholic bishop stopped at airport security and found to be in possession of child pornography, was today named in a civil lawsuit alleging sexual abuse by a former resident at Mount Cashel Orphanage. Sadly, this wasn’t totally unexpected because of the long history of abuse and cover-up that was exposed several years ago regarding Mount Cashel. The charges against Lahey, stretching over a four year period for this one victim, include simulated anal intercourse and fondling. The entire situation, that men in positions of authority and unquestioning trust, could take such vile advantage of children who are in the worst of situations, and the hierarchy STILL turns a blind eye. These children were in an orphanage, already emotionally suffering more than any child should have to. Orphans, deaf children, special needs children… these men, ‘men of God’ who demand that we uphold the laws of the church and we confess our crimes, and who pass judgment on people far too often with their hellfire and brimstone damned-to-hell preaching, have been preying on the most vulnerable in society, and others have allowed it. Both the doing and the allowing are crimes. Time to start atoning.

DATELINE: CARACAS – Color me fucking confused, but could someone explain to me why I have to see endless coverage of Tiger Woods using his fucking cell phone on the golf course (insert gasp of horror here) when in the capital city of Venezuela, those two nice boys, Hugo Chavez and Vladimir Putin, are bumping heads regarding, what will be in total, $9Billion worth of weapons. In the last five years, Chavez has purchased $4 Billion of Russian arms, including fighter jets, Mi-17 helicopters and 100K Kalashnikov rifles. The next round of spending, however, includes the establishment of nuclear capabilities. Of course, Chavez says, this is done ‘obviously with peaceful aims’ despite his comments that the intent of the purchases is to end US influence in Latin America. In a country where the majority of people have no water, no electricity, are incredibly poor, Chavez manages to reach into a fucking hat and find billions to negotiate with his dear friend Putin. Both these men, along with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have made no secret of their alliances over the years, joined with the shared goal of fighting US imperialism and ‘attempting to liberate themselves from the imperialist yoke’. Ahmadinejad has also publicly thanked Chavez for ‘supporting Tehran in its nuclear standoff with the international community’. The list of countries now receiving arms through deals brokered by Putin include India, Algeria, Malaysia, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, who have all purchased the Russian S-300 air defense system. China has also received delivery of 15 batteries of the S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, and one has to assume Putin would not deny his close friend, the leader of Iran, the same toys. It should also be noted that Russia and Venezuela have signed 31 agreements in twelve hours, rushing to beat the newly imposed Arms Control agreement with the US. Yes, people, this is news, not who Tiger may or may not be having phone sex with while on the links in fucking Augusta.

DATELINE: OTTAWA – For some time now, the issue of the treatment of POW’s in Afghanistan has been a hot potato in the Canadian Parliament. At question: did the Canadian government know that prisoners turned over to NDS (Afghan National Directorate of Security) were being tortured, and knowing that, did they turn a blind eye and allow it to continue, while still turning over more prisoners to face the same fate. Documents released yesterday say that yes, the government was made away, and yes, they did continue to turn prisoners over to be tortured, fully aware of the fact that doing so was against the Geneva Convention AND falls within the parameters of a war crime. Comrade Harper and his band of Merry Muppets have argued that when they found out, they created a ‘more robust’ transfer agreement that fixed the problem. If that is the case, why will they not allow other politicians to view full, unedited documents regarding this? Documents show that since the ‘more robust’ agreement, they STILL were advised of the problems that exist. While Harper makes me mad, his arrogance that seems to be so characteristic of other wonderful despots in the world (see list in the above article), this story makes me sad. That we would support torture of ANYONE is totally fucking barbaric. The German Gestapo loved torture… remember them? Is this what we want to participate in? Yes, there is a war, but that does not mean that the people involved in the war are not human, especially since we are presumably fighting for the democratic dream and the cause of human rights. We are abhorred at the thought that our troops would be tortured, and rightly so. So how the hell do we justify doing it to others? It is a sad fucking day when we lower our morals to that level. War is bad enough, although admittedly sometimes necessary. Torture of soldiers? Absolutely unacceptable.

DATELINE: WEST VIRGINIA – While families and spouses continue to wait for some word on the four still-unaccounted-for miners trapped in the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion, stories abound about increased safety violations and fines issued to the mine over the last year. Last year Massey received over $380,000 in fines for repeated violations regarding ventilation alone, and yet the CEO insists that safety was their number one concern. Bullshit. Their profits went up along with their fines. It looks like once again, dancing through the legal loopholes, they managed to put the thickness of corporate wallets far over and above the health and safety of the people who work long hours every day to add every fucking dollar to corporate coffers.

DATELINE: BOSTON – It has been reported that in August, prior to Phoebe Prince’s arrival at South Hadley High School, her aunt had attended the school to discuss her concerns and worries over Phoebe, stating that she was ‘susceptible’ to, and had been subjected to, harassment by classmates, urging that the staff be aware and on alert for a repeat of the problem again. A meeting between a school official and Prince was to take place at the beginning of the year, however, never happened until three months into the school year. It is truly sad that no one seemed to heed the warning, that the school officials preferred to remain in their little bubble of ignorance and deniability. They will be held to account for this tragedy, and it is to be hoped that other schools and students take note. This of course happened the day after three of the people charged in contributing to her death entered not guilty pleas. It was interesting to note that one of the charged, Kayla Narey (17), is ‘having a difficult time’ with the attention, that she has received threats over the internet for her involvement in the bullying. Obviously those making threats have resorted to the same deplorable behavior that caused Phoebe’s death, but I think Narey is barking up the wrong tree if she is looking for some sympathy.

DATELINE: ALASKA – “What if I didn’t come from a famous family?” This is the opening line pondered by Bristol Palin in her new Public Service announcement… ‘Pause before you play’. Through the 30-second blurb, her appearance goes from Glamour cover to trailer-trash, her surrounds change from New Urban Alaskan Taj Mahal to ghetto gutter. Yes, this is what happens when you are a teenager and get pregnant. Only Bristol Palin can manage and maintain her Glamour looks, but the rest of the world doesn’t have a fucking chance. While I totally support a reminder to our youth to consider the consequences of their actions, to do it with such an elitist flavor is counter-productive. And ‘famous’? Give me a fucking break!! I guess more than anything my thoughts though, go to her son Tripp, who will see these and will know that in his mother’s eyes, he was a mistake. Good thing they are ‘famous’ and will be able to afford all the therapy that child will require.

DATELINE: NEW JERSEY – We will start with a Good Friday Fish Story. A patron in a McDonald’s drive-through was desperate for a fucking Filet-o-Fish sandwich. For starters, real men don’t order anything that has such a cutsey fucking name. Anyways, he was told that it would take three minutes for his order to be ready, while they cooked the fish. Apparently displeased with this information, he went totally fucking ballistic, crawled through the drive-thru window, shouting and screaming at the attendant, raised a stink until his fish was ready, and left without paying. Police are still looking for him.

DATELINE: VANCOUVER – It would appear that the whole issue of the murder of Robert Dziekanski is in the history books – sadly so. While I appreciate that his mother, Zofia Cisowski has undoubtedly been through over two years of unmitigated hell and deserves a chance to put the issue to rest, the whole issue stinks. Now, because of a public apology and a cash settlement, all is fine and she is not interested in seeing the men, the policemen, who murdered her son face any criminal charges. Funny how, upon reading and hearing all this, I was made to think of the hundreds of parents who did the very same thing with regard to catholic priests abusing their children, agreeing that perhaps because they could not take any more of the legal bullshit, because they were tired of the fighting and the crap that comes with this, because they knew they would be facing many, many years more of this, it was just easier to accept what was being offered and let the issue disappear. That the RCMP has managed to get the issue, both the criminal and the civil actions, to stop, that they have managed to purloin a complete and total pardon from all responsibility in the taking of this man’s life is nothing but fucking shameful.

DATELINE: TV LAND – Sarah Palin’s new FOX program ‘Real American Stories’ premieres tonight, and even before she has started, there is already controversy surrounding it. In the promo for the show, clips of interviewees are flashed across the screen, people like Toby Keith, LL Cool J, Jack Welch that she has interviewed for the program, but WAIT! According to LL Cool J and his Tweets, the opening of Real American Stories is filled will Real American Deception. "Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show. WOW." Gotta love that LLCool J and his tweets! So, how’s that Twitter thing working for ya so far, Sarah? *wink wink* In response, a Fox spokesman has said that in response to LL Cool J ” …we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career." I would venture to say that LL Cool J shows MUCH more potential and talent, and without doubt intellect and pizzazz that Ms Palin could ever fucking hope to show. It will be interesting to see their response to Toby Keith who has now contacted the New York Times to say that he has never been interviewed by or with Palin, and that he had no idea he was being used for the show. His publicist, speaking on Keith’s behalf, said they believe FOX will be ‘recycling an interview Keith gave in 2009’. Yup, me suspects this shall be a Comedy of Errors from fore to aft, one of gargantuan proportions.

DATELINE: HARBIN, CHINA -- If you believe in reincarnation, the last fucking thing you want to come back as is any animal that might end up in a zoo in China. Workers at the Harbin Northern Forest Zoo, frustrated with their inability to provide the care needed to take care of their animals, have revealed that last year they were required to dig a 10 foot deep pit to be used as a mass grave for 30-40 animals that had died from lack of care and proper nutrition. These animals included lions, tigers and leopards. The employees also reported that in the first half of 2008, 14 animals, including extremely endangered white tigers and white lions, had died from malnutrition. As a cost-cutting measure, the zoo enforced diet changes for the animals, resulting in some of the big cats even being fed corn buns instead of meat. Earlier last month, the zoo in Shenyang was closed when it was revealed 36 animals had died amid allegations of body-part harvesting, including 13 endangered Siberian tigers whose organs were used to create such concoctions as tiger-bone liquor, thought to boost a man’s virility. Nothing says I Am A Man like killing a beautiful endangered, CAGED animal in order to get your boner up. Buy some fucking Viagra if you can’t get it up, but leave the damned cats alone.

DATELINE: MASSACHUSETTS – In his first comments since charges were brought against some of his students in relation to the death of Phoebe Prince, Superintendent Gus Sayer managed to remove a lot of doubt as to how this sort of thing could happen. Yes, in true political fashion, he opened his mouth and crap spewed out, which was a bit of a challenge after the ass hat comments made by school Chairman Edward Boisselle, who took ass-hattedness to whole fucking new level. Sayer’s comments regarding the findings of the official investigation were unfortunate, his speculation regarding the sources of official information, his audacity to border on calling Prince’s parents liars when it came to them reporting the information, were pretty much asinine. However, his comments, and their implied meaning, regarding his surprise that the DA drew such a strong connection between the bullying and Prince’s death, that it was an assumption on the DA’s part but that something other than school could have caused the girl to take her own life, was beyond fucking ignorant. That he would even try that crap is more than reprehensible. And Boisselle? His resorting to semantics about who knew and then arguing that the absent Sayer ‘has never taken the amount of vacation that he has coming to him” as an excuse for him not stepping up in a timely manner? Here’s the thing… it sounds as if they are spending a whole lot of time making up lame-ass fucking excuses for the fact that they have spent a whole lot of time in the past year NOT DOING THEIR FUCKING JOBS. A girl is dead, she is dead because of the actions of other people, including the adults charged with the responsibility of teaching and protecting a school full of students, and in the process they have totally disrespected Miss Prince and her family in the process as a means to cover their own fucking guilt. They have failed on all counts.

DATELINE: ABBOTSFORD – In a display of unbelievable juvenile behavior, Jim Playfair, coach of the Abbotsford Heat, went totally fucking ballistic during a game on Saturday night. Yes, this supposed athlete, this supposed professional, got annoyed at a call against one of his players. His reaction? He shattered not one, but two hockey sticks by smashing them against the wall. He even ripped off his fucking jacket, a la The Incredible Hulk, just to remove any doubt that he meant business. Ohhhhh, we are soooo impressed with that display of stupid fucking masculine control. He got fined – no apology, no shame, no worries, because he is a professional. Sorry, but the jack ass should be banned from stepping foot into a fucking hockey arena for the rest of his life. The fact that no one seems to have any fucking perspective on the fact that THIS IS A GAME, not life or death, astounds me. The outcome of a fucking hockey game does not stop terrorists from bombing a Russian subway, it does not save a child from cancer, it does not provide houses for people in Haiti, it does not do anything but apparently provide a grossly over-paid excuse for bad fucking behavior. Mr. Playfair, grow the hell up and act like a man. Sadly, with the support of people like the Abbotsford mayor and the local media, this will do nothing but up the attendance figures for future games. Our society is sick, and getting sicker every day.

DATELINE: EDMONTON – Two years ago, a toddler was sitting eating dinner at the table in her Grandmother’s house when a bullet ripped through the wall, hit her liver and lodged in her spine, where it still is today, and where it will remain for the rest of her life because of the dangers involved with removing it. The person pulling the trigger? An 18-year-old who claimed to be on a month-long high and drunk after getting his $40,000 royalty cheque from the Samson Cree First Nation, and who thought he was opening up on the home of a rival gang member. Yes, this is nothing more than a kid who instantly squanders his money, which is his business, and then uses that as an excuse to totally fuck up other innocent lives. However, that is not the only crime that has me totally steamed: the ass-hat judge decided that the shooting was worthy of a five-year prison term, but the robbery this idiot also committed was worth a six-year sentence. Yes, the smoke, booze, television set or whatever the hell else this little gangster thug stole was worth MORE than the life and well-being of a two-year-old little girl. The judge also awarded four years’ credit to be applied to the sentence because of the two years spent in custody awaiting trial. This, along with the federal parole system kicking in after one-third of a sentence is served, means he could potentially be back out on the streets in… wait for it… about four months. Yes, the justice system totally fucking blows.

DATELINE: CALIFORNIA – “I’m a fortunate gay man.” Sounds like the lyrics for a fucking country and western song, but no, it’s the proclamation of singer Ricky Martin, who has decided it is 'his time' to come out of the closet. The reason for his declaration? Well, duh! He is writing a book, and damn, this is gonna help that puppy fly off the fucking shelves. Really, I hate to be the one to say this, but first, this is no surprise, and second, who gives a shit? Again, I am left asking ‘why is this on my fucking news?’

DATELINE: MICHIGAN – The Hutaree, a group of God-fearing Christian Warriors, hatched up a plan to rid the country of a ‘one-world government’ intent on thrusting too many restrictions on Americans who love liberty. (The irony of this position though, astounds me... the democratically-elected government needs to be brought down by militant thugs who plan to enforce their own definition of liberty and freedom) They will be experiencing a whole new definition of 'liberty loving', at least the nine of them who were plotting to kill a police officer, and then use the funeral for that officer as an opportunity to carry out a terrorist attack on the officers and people attending. It takes a pretty sick fucking person to plan something like this. It takes a whole hell of a lot of hate and intolerance. The fact that this is done in the name of religious duty is even more distressing. Please, someone, find me one incidence of any God demanding that we run out and kill each other, because I don’t believe one of those Gods exists. The spirituality of God is being totally desicrated by the religions of man, and that is the ultimate crime. That we have become so hateful, that we have learned nothing from the experiences of the past, is easily the saddest fucking testament to human kind. So, Ann Coulter, tell me how you propose we keep these people out of society, because these ones didn’t come with flying carpets or camels, just a whole lot of religious fucking rhetoric, fear mongering and hatred, just like that crap you like to spew.

DATELINE: MASSACHUSETTS – In a case that is incredibly disturbing, nine teenagers have been charged with being complicit in the suicide death of 15-year-old Phoebe Prince in January. Prince endured being raped, stalked, harassed, and tormented constantly, both on-line and in person, at the hands of her classmates. School officials, though aware of the problem and despite the fact that most of the harassment occurred on school property during school hours, did nothing. Why they are not being held accountable is beyond me, because its time the bullying was truly dealt with. Six of the teens (four girls) face a long string of offences, including statutory rape and assault. Three girls face delinquency charges, because I guess they were just the protégés. A beautiful young woman, newly arrived in the country, lost her life because of God only knows what burr that happened to be up the asses of some other students. The fact that nothing was done to stop this is appalling. The fact that we live in a society that offers such an unbelievable sense of entitlement to a group of teenagers, that they have the right to prevent someone from attending school or living a life and can prevent it by any means possible, in deplorable. Mr. Playfair of hockey coach temper-tantrum fame should be getting outraged about this sort of thing – not a fucking game. Sarah Palin should be talking about these issues of intolerance and hatred, not drawing crosshairs on the homes of those politically opposed to her and adding to the rage, blame and bullshit. Ann Coulter should be talking about outrage in THIS issue, and not propagating more hate and intollerance by telling people that Muslims should be banned from commercial flights, and anyone other than white Christians have a right to thrive and survive. I suppose though, the haughty sense of privilege demonstrated by our politicians, athletes, the clergy and those in the celebrity world, what the hell else should we expect. My heart goes out to Phoebe's family, and to all those other students and their families who are still daily living this nightmare.
